The political culture of our country is more synonymous with ishq than with politics. The public has been worshipping the same tried and tested leaders since decades and despite their failing us each time these followers who are like a flock of sheep, are steadfast in their worship. They are naïve enough to take them at face value, gather at their jalsaas and listen to their monotonous, decades old speeches with fervor.
One never ceases to wonder how they can take such complete leave of their senses.
Their loyalty though misguided is very astonishing and one never ceases to wonder how they can take such complete leave of their senses, keep believing in many times broken promises and actually fight tooth and nail in favor of their heroes.
The fate of the country has been sealed by the innate dishonesty of the politicians.

The fate of the country has been sealed by the innate dishonesty of the politicians, as their service to the country begins with the jalsaas and ends with their recovering their elections expenses after getting elected. They promise water in their constituencies but though the taps are put up, the running water remains an unfulfilled promise till the next elections.
The funny part is that even after being elected they behave as if it is election year and the jalsaas and the gatherings continue, because unlike Parliaments of other countries, they do not consider themselves to be public servants with a job, but simply heroes to mesmerize their audience. Since they have no intention of fulfilling their promises they can only retain their follower’s loyalty by exciting them through these jalsaas and keeping their minds off the broken promises.
As long as this culture of blind ishq and hero worship continues, the fate of the common man has no chance of improving.
One cannot entirely blame them for this subterfuge as the awam being stupidly gullible and behaving more like an “ashiq” than a supporter deserve this fate. As long as this culture of blind ishq and hero worship continues, the fate of the common man has no chance of improving, we would continue to discuss our woes, without blaming our own blind faith for our predicament, while these leaders continue their evil game of self- service and manipulation, at the cost of our deliberate ignorance and misplaced loyalty.
